Chanka Village Council (CVC) with regard to objection on recognition of Yankhum village which was registered in the office of DC, Wokha has claimed that despite the matter not mutually settled yet DC A. Wopen Lotha has reportedly forwarded recommendation of village. CVC chairman, Nkhumo Kikon in a letter addressed to state chief minister said action of DC was contrary to the interest of justice and infringement of established criteria laid down by government. Stating that Yankhum village and its border was under government approved map and jurisdiction of Chanka village, CVC said if the boundary between the two villages where demarcated from the border road as per original agreement, they had no objection. However, it asserted that objection registered earlier by Chanka village should stand as it was. CVC has appealed chief minister to initiate rectification to avoid lapses and lacunae.
