As a sign of resentment, the Post Graduate Students of Lumami went for a silent procession from NU auditorium to the newly constructed building site holding banners and placards. Imkongtiba Longkumer, president PGSU(L) in his speech encouraged the students to be united at the very hour and fight in true spirit against all corruptions, odds and evils, hampering the development of NU headquarter Lumami. General secretary PGSU (L) G Omega Sema, highlighted some facts which compelled the union to take up the anniversary celebration which included the commitments of the Vice-Chancellor in shifting its office from Kohima Camp to Lumami by March 31, 2008 during his Convocation address of March 15, 2007 and also on the occasion of felicitation of the Governor and the Chief Rector of Nagaland University on April 4, 2007. The gathering also contempt the failure of NU authority and NBCC to execute the project in a time bound manner and delay in the handing and taking over of the buildings as stated on the MoU signed between the parties concerned.
