Officers asked to strive for social uplift

Kohima Ao Officers Forum (KAOF) meet was held on April 4, at ‘The Heritage’, Officers Hill, Kohima. Exhorting the gathering, Lipokmeren Jamir IAS (Retd.) called upon the officers to do away with their complacent attitudes and be more focused in their responsibilities towards the society. He said that a good leader should be conscientious and someone whom society looked up to with reverence. He urged the officers to strive for the upliftment of the society and also steer the people in the right direction. He also said that as responsible leaders, one should be impartial in attitude and fear God. Minister for PHED, Dr Ngangshi expounded on the qualities of a competent official and stated that as an able representative, an officer should be responsible in discharging their duties both at work and in the society. He said one should be guided by intellectual and spiritual strength and should also retrospect on how good they are as stewards and further make room for growth in all spheres of life. commissioner & secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Temjen Toy, IAS also spoke on the occasion. The programme was led by Dr. K. Chuba and Dr. N. Benjong Aier. Meanwhile, the new office bearers for the tenure 2009-2011 were also designated comprising president Imkonglemba IAS, vice president Limawati Longchar, general secretary Alemjongshi, assistant general secretary Dr Benjongtula, publicity secretary Narola Jamir, finance secretary Limanungsang, advisor Toshi Aier, IAS and treasurer Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS.
