NPCC has alleged that the state chief minister Neiphiu Rio and Rajya Sabha MP from Nagaland, H. Khekiho Zhimomi have paid Rs.1,00,000(One Lakh) and Rs.40,000 (forty thousand) respectively to Seithekema ‘A’, ‘C’, Old and Basa villages on April 2 during their on-going election campaigning process in Nagaland. The NPCC viewed the payments as a clear case of deliberately luring innocent people to vote for CM Chang, NPF candidate by the Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha MP and demanded that appropriate action be taken immediately. NPCC Convener, Election Model Code of Conduct Committee, Eduzu Vadeo and member, Mhonlumo Kikon said the payments were made for repairing of link road connecting Seithekema ‘A’, ‘C’, Old and Basa villages in Dimapur district. The NPCC in support of their allegation also referred to the “gratitude” extended to them by the three villages that appeared in this paper on April 4.
