Karbi Longri NC Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF) has called a 36 hours strike in Karbi Anglong and NC Hills, starting from Monday 5 pm to Wednesday 5 am, in protest against the killing of its activist Major Sidhi Pnaggcho by the Indian Army in an alleged fake encounter on April 3 at Dolamara. KLNLF’s armed wing commander in-charge, S. Timung has instructed its cadres to shoot any person found purposely violating the strike. All essential services, including media, water supply, electricity etc. have been exempted from the purview of the 36 hours marathon strike call. S. Timung through a press release has also criticized the move of the government machinery and Indian army in carrying out the anti-insurgency operation in remote and rural areas of Karbi Anglong.
