ACCC Sataka meet held DIMAPUR: Congress party office bearers, both village and constituency level, 36 Satakha A/C held a meeting on April 3 which was attended by 200 members. In a meeting, T. Inavi Jimomi, PCC member and former INC candidate lauded the work of Asungba Sangtam, for creating history as the “only Naga MP who initiated direct dialogue and also recognized Naga problem as political”. According to ACCC 36 Satakha A/C president, Aheto Yepthomi, DCC vice president, Vitoho executive member, Aboto, DCC secretary, Kihito, working president, GBs and elders also spoke at the meeting. They dwelt on ‘false promises’ or unfulfilled commitment’ made by NPF in the last MP election who “tricked innocent village GBs” and said that the non-payment of salary or bills was due to huge deficit of RS. 600 crores incurred by NPF government. ‘Monyu’ fest celebrated in Longleng DIMAPUR: ‘Monyu’ the premier festival of Phom tribe was celebrated on April 2 at Pongo village with C.K. Nehekhu Sema, deputy commissioner Longleng as the chief guest. According to a press release issued by K. Niamnyei Phom, chairman Monyu organizing committee, the chief guest while extending greetings to all the people from Phom community also advised the villagers to strive to continue work hard and further said that there was no alternative to hard labour for the livelihood. He even discouraged the villagers spending time and money in town without any beneficial purposes and also spoke on the importance of preserving the rich cultural tradition of the Naga tribes. Other persons who spoke on the occasion were Yimto, SP Longleng; M. Shayung, SDO (Civil) Longleng; Longting, head Dobasi and P. Yongkai and also attended by host of officers and staff, NGOs and tourist departmental officials from Kohima. 2 Dimapur II A/C NPF meet held DIMAPUR: The second co-ordination meeting of 2 Dimapur II A/C NPF officials along with DMC members of 13 wards under 2 Dimapur II A/C central, leaders and division officials, was held at Hotel Saramati on April 4. Temjen I. Jamir, in a press release stated that strategies for the ensuing parliamentary election and by-election in 3 Dimapur III A/C were discussed while welcoming the four DMC members who joined the NPF. All DMC members present at the meeting assured unflinching support to the DAN candidate in the election. The meeting was chaired by Khondao Ngullie, President, while Aowati, Advisor, led the meeting in prayer. Vote of thanks was given by Temsu, President (Youth Wing). RJD Tizit clarifies statement DIMAPUR: RJD 41 Tizit in response to the news item that appeared in local dailies on March 31 has clarified the resignation of Ame, chief Angh and Mewang, deputy Angh along with 59 household from Congress and RJD party was “baseless propaganda” as “it does not bear any fact”. According to RJD president 41 Tizit, Nyawang the persons mentioned were never enrolled in RJD party nor the primary members of the party and that the resignation of RJD six household to join NPF “does not bear any truth”. NPF grateful DIMAPUR: NPF youth wing general secretary Lhousito Khro and NPF general secretary T. Shüya have expressed gratitude to villages of Piphema old ‘A’ and new village Chumukedima, New Socünoma, Tsüama, Rüzaphema, Sirhima Kuki village, Maova, Khaibung, Molvom and Bungsang villages under 5 Ghaspani II A/C for declaring their support to NPF lead DAN consensus candidate C.M Chang for the ensuing Lok Sabha election. According to a press release by both general secretaries Khro and Shüya the villages under 5 Ghaspani II A/C in a written declaration addressed to NPF President Dr. Shürhozelie declared to support NPF candidate ‘without any condition’. NSF cautions against imposters DIMAPUR: Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on observing that ‘some unscrupulous individuals’ were collecting financial aid from different section of people/ community in connection with NSF 23rd general conference, has informed its well wishers that Federation had already setup a finance committee to assist the office for the conference needs and its estimated budget. The Federation has cautioned all well wishers not to entertain any imposter without any proper consultation with the NSF president and organising finance committee members and to report the matter to district administration, police department or contact office of NSF for necessary action. Further, NSF has convened a consultative meeting with its office bearers and organizing committee members on April 7 at 12 noon at Conference Hall, Nagi Guest House, Dimapur. All members have been requested to attend the meeting. EVM preparation at Mkg DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner and assistant returning officer Mokokchung, R. Mhathung has informed contesting candidates or agents or authorized representatives to attend at the preparation of EVM/commissioning of machines on April 7 and 8 at Town Hall at 10 am. Seminar, free medical camp held DIMAPUR: Women department of Baptist Church Meluri Town (BCMT) had organized a two day programme on “women and health care” at BCMT from March 11 to 12. According to a press release issued by Jemima, women leader BCMT, the programme was held in commemoration of 25 years of BCMT which would be held from April 14 to 15. Dr. Thoriisie, MD Naga hospital authority Kohima was the resource person who emphasized on health care of women and also stressed that a mother should be caring, loving, and truthful and be spiritually filled in order to bring peace and happiness in a home. Further free medical checkup and medicines were ministered to around 200 persons including women and children. ACCC Zbt elect its president DIMAPUR: ACCC 35 Zunheboto A/C has elected Khekuto Zhimo TCM as its acting president. According to Kikheho Jimo, general secretary, ACCC 35 Zunheboto general secretary, the election was held in an emergency meeting on April 2 where the house also deliberated on the resignation of ACCC president and expressed the immature decision taken by the resigned president. Meanwhile. a meeting of 35 ACCC was held on April 3 at Zunheboto where its acting president Khekuto Zhimomi welcomed the party workers and appealed to vote for Asungba Sangtam. PCC members ex MLA Hukavi Zhimomi highlighted the party policies at the centre and state and urged the people not to hesitate to elect the candidate for Lok Sabha MP. All representatives’ present at the meeting under 35 ACCC have declared to support Congress candidature. The 35/AC Zunhebtoto have expressed gratitude to NPCC president K.V Pusa for appointing Hukavi Zhimomi as PCCI member. Duty lists for teachers DIMAPUR: Deputy Inspector of School (DIS) Dimapur, has informed all its employees that duty list for the ensuing parliamentary and assembly by-election has been received from the district election officer, Dimapur on April 3. All head teacher/teacher in-charge of GMS & GPS have been asked to collect the duty list of their respective employees from the DIS on April 6, 10am, failing which, the release said stern action would be taken as per penal of provision. Meanwhile training for all polling official would commenced 0n April 7 for all presiding officer & first polling officer, April 8 for first, second, fourth and fifth polling officer, and on April 13 for special training for all polling officer at Dimapur Government College auditorium. LC celebrate 39th Charter Nite DIMAPUR: Lions Club (LC) of Dimapur celebrated its 39th Charter Nite -cum- Official visit of District Governor Lion P.K. Dutta at Lions Centre on April 4. Accompanied by many cabinet members for the occasion, DG exhorted the members to be of exemplary service besides informing the house about Lion International being adjusted as the best NGO in the world. While inspecting the Board of Directors meeting, DG appreciated all the activities and file maintenance of the club. Application forms for EDC DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Wokha has informed that the application forms for Election Duty Certificate (EDC) can be collected from the officer in-charge Athrila, EAC headquarter Wokha on or before April 7 and should be submitted to the officer in-charge before April 9. Wepretso Mero, DC Wokha has requested all the government officials drafted for 15th Lok Sabha parliamentary election duty to collect the application forms and do the needful. VHC meet DIMAPUR: Village Health Committee (VHC) chairman and secretary of Peren district possessing bank account have been informed to attend meeting on April 8 at CMO office and collect cheque with briefing and guidelines. SSD informs DIMAPUR: State Siviculture Division (SSD) has informed owners of water pipes passing through the Forest Departmental Botanical Garden, Aradhura, New Ministers Hill, Kohima that under ‘water line checking’ the fencing was illegally broken amounting to destruction of government property. A press release issued by SSD has stated that botanical garden was also a biodiversity conservation area and trespassing into the garden without permission had become a regular practice which was against the conservation rules. Further, requested all owners to shift their water pipe lines outside the botanical garden fencing. Campus icon meet DIMAPUR: Team Metamorphosis Wokha has convened a meeting for all 15 finalists of Campus Icon 2008 on April 8, 4 p.m at Hotel Hornbill to deliberate on its forthcoming educational tour. It has also informed that Campus Icon 2009 would commence in the next few months and interested persons are requested to contact the organizers. Breakfast Prayer Fellowship DIMAPUR: Baptist Pastor’s Fellowship will host its Breakfast Prayer Fellowship on April 7 at Lhomithi Baptist Church, Signal Bosti at 6 a.m. Rev. Loli Kape, Chairman, BPFD, has informed that singing practice after the fellowship for the forthcoming Joint Fellowship of the Kohima and Dimapur Pastor’s Fellowship would be held on April 28 at City Church, Kohima. All pastors, including associate and assistant pastors are requested to attend the breakfast prayer fellowship. DC Longleng inform vehicle owners DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner and assistant returning officer Longleng, CK Niheku Sema has informed all vehicle owners, drivers under Longleng district whose vehicles have been requisitioned on March 6, habe been informed to confirm availability of the vehicle to DC’s office latest by April 8. The DC further stated failing to comply with the order would be treated seriously. Rüsoma vill council extend gratitude DIMAPUR: The Rüsoma village council has extended gratitude to those who rendered help at the untimely demise of Keneigulie Sachü, who was shot while on a hunting spree. The village council further said during the “terrible juncture” Northern Angami Students Union (NASU) and various organizations rendered support to the deceased family members, and especially thanked the Cherüdiki-e Public Organization for their unwavering support.
