Kangleipak Communist Party, KCP (MC) who claimed responsibility for the blast at Congress block office in Imphal east district said that its cadres are keeping a close vigil on the activities of Congress. A bomb was planted at block level Congress office located around a half kilometer west of Imphal east district police headquarter Tuesday at around 8 pm destroying a kutch structure. However no casualties were reported. While claiming responsibility for the blast, KCP (MC) said that the group targeted the office as ruling congress failed to check the atrocities carried out by security forces. The outfit had warned chief minister, O Ibobi recently to check unrestraint killing of people and threatened that if the killing does not stop, the group would hit Congress workers. Mention may be made that due to attacks carried out by militants in the last few months, the electioneering of Congress party has been hampered even though chief minister, O Ibobi had convinced the party workers that security measures have been taken up to check the attacks.
