ANSTA on non-payment of salary

All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has expressed concern over the non-payment of salaries to the teachers for the month of February and March due to ongoing verification of employees’ authenticity. Observing that delaying in the verification and non-payment of salary might be due to non compliance by the various DDOs in speeding up the authentication process, ANSTA president, Kepelhoutuo Chusi and general secretary, N Thungchio Shitire in a release has requested DDOs to verify genuine employees immediately to avoid hardships of the employees. It has also requested authority responsible to expedite the matter and release the pending salaries early. ANSTA Mokokchung unit president Tally Lkr and general secretary, S. Nungsang Jamir in a separate release also said that genuine teachers should not be victimized in any manner. The unit asserted that it would pursue “No pay, nowork” if the government failed to heed their plea. In another press note, ANSTA sub-unit Mangkolemba president, Senlikaba and secretary, Moasunep has expressed numerous hardships faced by teachers and their families due to non-payment of salaries. It said that in addition to this, the ADA arrears were still not released, whereas it has already affected in other establishments. In connection with this, the sub-unit has appealed directorate of school education to release the salaries and ADA arrears without further delay, failing which it would undertake “no pay, no work”.
