CM, ministers accused of code violation

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has Saturday accused state chief minister; minister for planning co-ordination, evolution, veterinary and animal husbandry, parliamentary affairs; minister for health and family welfare; minister road and bridges NPF advisor, Dr. Kanito and Kakheto of violating election Model Code Of Conduct (MCC). NPCC committee on model code of conduct convener, Eduzu Vadeo and member, Mmhonlumo Kikon in a letter addressed to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) alleged that state chief minister and minister for panning co-ordination, veterinary and animal husbandry distributed “480 bags of Rice” in Athibung area, Peren to “lure” the innocent electorate of these area. It also alleged that Dr. Kanito and Kakheto along with some GBs while campaigning in Akuluto area conveyed to the electorate that state chief minister had promised to upgrade SDO(C) to ADC HQ. NPCC committee on model code charging minister for road and bridges of violating MCC said the minister in a public meeting at VK town, Zunheboto on April 1 promised to construct road between VK Town and Akuluto if the whole area vote in favour of C.M. Chang. Further, reiterating that in spite of an agreement signed between NPF and INC representative before the Returning Officer, Phek April 3, the committee on model code of conduct accused minister for health and family welfare for hosting mass feasting “again” at Sakraba village, Phek April 8. NPCC, with regard to this has urged CEC to take stern action immediately.
