51 micro observers in Dmu

To ensure adherence to ‘Model Code of Conduct’ at the ensuing parliamentary election and assembly by-election in Dimapur-III, 51 micro observers would monitor election process. According to a press communiqué issued by deputy commissioner, Dimapur, Maongwati Aier, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), polling stations would also be monitored through video and digital cameras by officials deputed by him for which he directed all candidates and political parties to ensure that no intimidation was done to the voters. The communiqué also said that DEO and micro observers would be monitoring the election process with complete neutrality to ensure free and fair poll and for which the candidate and political parties have been directed to refrain from bogus voting and intimidation to the voters or electors. It also directed electors of Dimapur to confine within their respective villages, colonies and polling stations and also not to intrude into other colonies or villages on the polling day. Further, strict actions would be initiated for violation of ‘Election Model Code of Conduct’ and procedures, the communiqué added.
