With only two days left for Lok Sabha election, hectic preparations are on to conduct the polling in a free and fair manner in Mokokchung district on April 16.
According to an official bulletin, nearly one thousand polling officials have been trained and electronic voting machines and other polling materials have also been requisitioned for polling in 198 polling stations in the district. Vehicles and drivers to be engaged in the election duty have begun reporting to the D.C and ARO from today at Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
Sufficient Police personnel to man polling stations for providing security to the voters and polling officials had also been arranged.
D.C and ARO Mok-okchung, C.M Tsanglao would brief polling officials at Town Hall while DIG and S.P Mokokchung would brief the police officials at Police Station -1 on April 14.
Besides, the ARO had an exclusive meeting with 28 Sector officers and reviewed the pre-poll scenario in the district.
ADC Mokokchung, R. Asenla Keitzar said polling officials with polling materials and police personnel would proceed from district head quarter to their respective polling stations on April 15, adding, four polling stations in Mokokchung town would be exclusively manned by women polling teams.
Over one lakh seventy five thousand voters are expected to exercise their franchise on April 16.
To oversee the entire election exercise Election observer, T.A. Parthasaraty, looking after three districts namely Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Longleng is stationed at Mokokchung.
