Carrying on with the campaign ‘Survival Mokokchung’ the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has said that it would conduct registration for genuine non-locals (with valid documents) in all places under Mokokchung district, and for which phase-wise campaign has been planned and checking at block headquarters and villages would be conducted in a few months time.
AKM has expressed gratitude to public and well-wishers who had cooperated with the officials of AKM during the last renewal and registration of non-locals within Mokokchung town and nearby areas, adding the endeavor so far, has borne fruit in some particular aspects of the people of Mokokchung.
A press release issued by AKM general secretary Tongpang Ozukum and vice president Opanglemba said though much had been done; some local entrepreneurs were conniving with illegal immigrants and encouraging them for furthering their own interest of which the AKM was very watch full.
The release also stated that women entrepreneurs were discouraged from harboring these illegal immigrants in the guise of their spouses of any relation. The AKM warned such individuals that in declaration of such relation “you are withdrawing your right as Naga in general and Aos in particular”, accordingly the AKM said would deal with these individuals as “non-Naga or an illegal immigrant from now on.” Further, AKM stated individual or group who stood in the way of its goal would be considered as a “traitor”.
