Taking serious note of an alleged “attempted murder” on one of its member who is also the ex-chairman of Hozukhe village, Ihuto Awomi by four IRB jawans on March 27, at Naga United Village junction Niuland road, the Niuland Auto Taxi Association (NATA) and head GB and GB of Hozukhe village have urged the authorities to look into the matter by ordering an “impartial investigation” to book the culprits under relevant sections of the law. NATA president, H. Liriki Awomi, head GB, H. Hokuto Jimomi and GB, K. Heito Achumi of Hozukhe village in separate memorandums addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur said that four IRB jawans posted at S. Hetoi camp and traveling in a white Maruti gypsy (NL-01C-2958) allegedly “attempted to murder” Ihuto without any rhyme reason on March 27 at 1:30 pm at Naga United village junction while he was driving an auto rickshaw. The Signatories said the identities of the four jawans were not officially disclosed by the Commander of the post for reasons best known to them. It also said the post Commander, I. L. Longkumer had visited the victim’s place on two occasions after he was informed about the “whimsical attitude” of the jawans Taking all these into account the NATA and head GB and GB of Hozukhe village have urged the authority to punish the culprits as per the law of the land and deliver justice to the victim. NATA also cautioned that it would be compelled to seek its own course of action if the authorities failed to respond to their demand.
