Dimapur police on Monday nabbed two persons near Popular Bakery, Circular Road in a kidnapping case. Police identified the two arrested as Satovi alias Rajiv Saikia (25), presently residing at Thilixu village and Dipender Kumar (35) presently residing at Circular Road, Dimapur. Police said six persons were kidnapped near Bata Charali by some unidentified persons on Monday at around 3 am and were taken to 6th mile, Dilai Gate, Assam who later demanded ransom from a businessman at New Market. Three persons who arrived in a Tata Indica (NL-07-2796) at the bakery, collected the cash and fled from the scene. Police while chasing the miscreants resorted to blank firing but they managed to escape with one person named Kalia as their hostage. Later, the Special Branch led by H.K Sema, Deputy SP conducted a raid at six mile, Assam and rescued the remaining five abductees. The three miscreants who were still absconding with one kidnapped person were identified as Imna Moa, Talimongba and Temjen Nungsang son of Lanukangzuk all from Kangtsung under Tuli sub division, Mokokchung district.
