With the expiry of dateline on March 28 regarding two of its three demands to the DC Tuensang, the United Sangtam Likhum Bumji (USLB) has decided to start its first phase of agitation with total bandh in the entire Sangtam jurisdiction on April 4 from 6 a.m to 6 p.m. Law enforcing agencies and medical officials has been exempted from the preview of the bandh. USLB vice president, Serangmong Sangtam in a memorandum to the Nagaland chief secretary said the Bumji was forced to take its own course of action since the “date line of our demand No. 2 and 3 has turned in deaf ear.” It may be recalled, the USLB has demanded unconditional release of Tsalichem Sangtam, who was arrested on March 24 and also immediate revocation of summon order against Head GB and Council Chairman of Angangba village besides demanding public apology from the DC alleging that he had acted in a provocative manner against the Bumji.
