New Life Bible College (NLBC) Dimapur held its 11th convocation service at NLBC campus on Saturday with the General Superintendent Assemblies of God of North East India, Rev. Dr. Moses Murry as the speaker and Edward, Secretary to Minister PWD, Road and Bridges as Chief Guest.
The speaker while delivering the convocation address spoke on the theme ‘Harvest is plentiful but workers are few’.
He stated that the students were chosen with a purpose in the institution to be equipped with the word of God so that they could preach the gospel and in turn harvest souls in thousands for the Lord.
Presenting some keys for successful harvest for the Lord, he stated that a personal commitment and dedication would help the students in succeeding in their ministries and overcoming temptations and trials which they would face after they go to different places spreading the word of God.
The speaker further supplemented that love, compassion for others; obedience and sacrifice were vital keys to do Lord’s work.
Lamenting that many youth of today with degrees in theology and evangelism, made money as an important factor for preaching the gospel and advised the graduating students to start small with faith and prayer and that God would do miracles.
In a speech on behalf of the graduating students, Dawa, M.Div II year, stated that NLBC have enlightened and broadened their vision. The college, she added, molded them theoretically and practically and that the knowledge gained would last a lifetime.
Altogether 76 students were conferred various degrees; 60 students in B.Th (graduate), 2 in G.Th (graduate) and 14 in M.Div (graduate). Besides, academic awards were also given to students in various fields including Dignity of Labor, Director’s Award, Best Discipline, Deacon Board’s Award and Librarian’s Award.
Earlier the programme started with invocation from Lecturer Gaikao, while welcome address was delivered by Director of NLBC Rev. Dr. Xashepu Wotsa. Special songs were also presented by the college choir and the graduating class. A special prayer for the graduating students was delivered by Principal DBC Rev. Dr. Nuklu Longkumer, while the vote of thanks was given by the Board Chairman NLBC, Hukato Naga and benediction by Lecturer Dr. Kisheto.
New Life Bible College was established in the year 1996 and is accredited by the Senate of Indian Institute of Missiology and accredited by IATA.
