Mortal remains of lt Col. Supong brought home from China after 29 yrs

The mortal remains of late Colonel Supong Jamir was brought at the native home on April 21 evening through the initiatives of Col. (Retd) Teka and his family from Eastern Nagaland 29 years after he was shot dead. According to reports received from family members of late Colonel Supong Jamir, he was shot dead on December 22, 1979 in Eastern Nagaland. The mortal remains were buried on April 22 at his native village, Longjang. The family sources of late Col. Supong Jamir narrated how he joined NNC in 1957 and was the Quarter Master of 21 Bn NNC, and also added that late Col. Supong Jamir went to China in 1967 and in 1974 respectively. A much dedicated officer of the Naga Army, he died after serving 22 years of service for the Naga nation.
