Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President MLA, K V Pusa on Saturday called for collective effort to bring peace and unity in the state. Addressing the “safe motherhood and family planning camp” organized by Kohima Obst & Gynae Society of Nagaland (KOGSON) at Community Health Centre, Viswema, Pusa said, “Various organizations and people talk of peace and unity but they have not been to grassroots level where peace and unity could come”. Congress leader said shouting peace and making high rhetoric statement would not bring real peace and unity in Naga society, “Nagas can progress if only peace and unity prevails in society”. Lauding the Doctors and KOGSON for organizing the camp for the common people, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee president urged Naga organizations and officers visit villages and work for welfare of the needy people, which would ultimately deliver peace and unity. However, he expressed regret that organizations and officers had failed to go to needy and targeted people. Hundreds of women from southern Anagmi area attended the camp where doctors briefed about safe motherhood and advantage of family planning. Earlier the programme was chaired by Dr. K. Keditsu, Sr. Vice President, KOGSON, while invocation was pronounced by Krovi Vitsu, Catechist VHC member. Introduction note was delivered by Dr. Kevingulie Khro, President, KOGSON, while Neihovi Toso VDB secretary and Dr. Chelo medical officer CHC Viswema delivered short speeches and vote of thanks was proposed by Vizohol Vitsu Chairman VHC.
