Rajayog Meditation Center, Dimapur celebrated its 4th anniversary at Sri. Ramakrishna Sevashram at a function where selected Yoga exercises for various ailments were displayed by renowned Yoga teacher of Dimapur, Tapan Chakraborty founder president of the Rajayoga Meditation Centre and his student, Avijit Bishnu here Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Geoffrey Yaden, Editor Nagaland Post felicitated the Center and in particular lauded Tapan Chakraborty for his selfless devotion to Yoga for the past thirty years and expressed hope that through the Center, a greater awareness of holistic living can be achieved throughout Dimapur and also the state.
Geoffrey said Dimapur had produced many ‘firsts’ of Nagaland such as Tapan Chakraborty, the first Yoga teacher who taught it to common people for the past few decades driven by selfless devotion and not materialistic pursuits.
He wished the Center a successful future while expressing hope that it would produce more disciples of Yoga to spread it to all other corners of the state.
Among those who also spoke included Dr. D. R. Sharma who spoke about the benefits of yoga.
Welcome address was delivered by Deepak Deb ex-president SRKS, opening song by Depannita Maiti, speeches by Samiran Bishnu and secretary BSS Swami Chinmayanandaji, while vote of thanks was proposed by Sukomal Sen, lecturer Dimapur Government College.
