In connection with the May 2 shooting incident at Church Road, Dimapur where two of its leaders were grievously injured by the GPRN/NSCN activists on “mistaken identity,” the All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has demanded the former to hand over the culprits to the Dimapur district administration on or before May 5, 5 p.m. The SKK team met the GPRN/NSCN officials at their Khehoi designated camp on Sunday and submitted a representation to the “Kilo Kilonser” appended by its president, Abeto L. Shohe and general secretary, Mughato K. Swu wherein the mentioned demand was contained. The decision to put forth the demands was arrived at during an emergency meeting of the SKK on Sunday at the office of the Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU). The SKK also demanded immediate discharge of the culprits from the GPRN/NSCN. It further demanded the GPRN/NSCN to take necessary action on the concerned officer under whose command the incident happened and to publicize the action taken thereof. The SKK said it shall have no option but to initiate further course of action as deemed fit it the GPRN/NSCN authority failed to comply with its demands. The SKK said it anticipated positive response from the concerned authority at the earliest. It may be recalled that two student leaders namely Benito Chisho, speaker of All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) and Atoka Chophy, former president of Kiphire District Sumi Students’ Union (KDSSU) were shot and injured by the GPRN/NSCN in a case of “mistaken identity.”
