Jakhama head of offices meet DIMAPUR: The co-ordination meeting of all head of offices under SDO (C) Jakhama has been convened at EAC headquarter Kezocha on May 7 at 12:30 p.m. All officers of various department have been requested to attend the meeting. OWO sales day DIMAPUR: Ongpangkong Women Organisation (OWO) or Ongpangkong Watsu Mongdang would be organising sales day on May 9 starting 8 a.m at Imlong place. Ongpangkong Watsu Mongdang President, Rongsenlemla informed that food items, vegetables, fowls and other items prepared locally by its members would be on sale. PSU silver jubilee Kohima: The 25th annual fresher social meet and silver jubilee of Phesama Students Union would be held on May 23 at 10 am at PVC hall. Union has requested all its members and well wishers to attend the programme. DPDB Wokha meeting postponed DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner and vice chairman DPDB Wokha, Wepretso Mero has informed that DPDB meeting for Wokha district which was supposed to be held on April 9 has been postponed to May 11 at DC’s conference hall Wokha. KU Aboi expels vice president DIMAPUR: Konyak Union (KU) Aboi unit has informed that it has expelled its vice president Y. Ato due to his misbehavior at an advisory board sitting on April 10. The unit has informed that Y.Ato would no longer have any authority to take steps in the union’s name and would be penalized if found to do so. CWUD meet DIMAPUR: An executive meeting of Chesezumi Welfare Union Dimapur (CWUD) has been convened on May 9 at 1 pm at School of Music Dimapur. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting. BCBCN graduation day DIMAPUR: Believers Church Bible College Nagaland (BCBCN) 4th graduation day ceremony was held on May 5 at Aoyimti village Dimapur with Dr. Daniel Johnson, medical director pf Believers Church as speaker. According to Rev. Kasthang Kath, state secretary, Believers Church Nagaland, 51 graduates were conferred with G.Th degree by Bishop Rev. P.S Thomas. The programme was attended by various leaders, pastors, parents and well wishers. Rangali Bihu celebration deferred DIMAPUR: Dimapur Rangali Bihu celebration has been deferred to May 23 and 24 at Dimapur Namghar premises. Cultural competition, Bihu husori, Bihu nasani and drawing competition would be held on May 23. Dimapur Sanmilan president, P. Bendang Ao has requested interested candidates for the competition to collect entry forms on or before May 14 from Delta service, near Plaza Police Point and submit the forms before May 20 at the same centre. PWD colony panchayat new team DIMAPUR: The PWD colony Panchayat Kohima held its executive and sectors representative meeting on April 18 at Panchayat hall and elected new officers for the year 209-2013. The new office bearers will be led by Ketsodi as chairman, Atso Yoshu as vice chairman, K.M odyuo as general secretary, L.T Sangtam as joint secretary, Chuba walling as treasurer Adak Yaden as finance secretary and other three advisors. Felicitation prog Angami HSLC toppers DIMAPUR: S.99 Society 6th Mile Sovima village would felicitate the Angami toppers with a cash award of Rs.10, 000 to 14 students on May 16 at 10 am at its office at Sovima village. SDMVOA condemns murder DIMAPUR: Senapati District Motor Vehicle Owners Association (SDMVOA) has condemned the killing and murder of Afo Mao son of L.Kholi of Tumuyon Khullen, who was taken along with his vehicle on April 29 and dumb in gorge near Khabung Karong village. In a press release SDMVOA secretary Sahdev Gurung said that such frequent heinous crimes have created fear among the drivers who render selfless service to the needy. The Association has further requested the competent authority to book and award the severest of punishment to the culprits. KDTA inform taxi owners DIMAPUR: Kiphire District Taxi Association (KDTA) in a joint press release issued by its president Y.Litsase Sangtam and general secretary S. Tsasemong Sangtam, informed that all taxi plying in and around Kiphire district who have yet not taken yearly registration for the year 2009 to register before May 15 from Litsase Travel Agency or Saramati Travel Agency. Further it informed strict action would be taken against the defaulters and also those taxis that do not pay entry tax would be penalized with heavy fine. Scooter recovered DIMAPUR: Police personnel from Diphupahar on May 4 recovered a Bajaj Chetak, NL07E-3711, bearing engine number CREBMD58835 and chassis number CRCBMD53975 abandoned from Chumukeidima. The OC, Diphupahar has asked the owner to claim the same from the Police station with valid documents. VC inform Ph. D candidates DIMAPUR: Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof. K.Kanan through a press release informed candidates who have been provisionally qualified for degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in their respective subject. WDKWSA condoles DIMAPUR: Wokha District Kyong Women Sports Association (WDKWSA) has expressed condolences to the family members of Lt. Okharo Nchumbemo Yanthan, official referee of WDKWSA, who passed away on May 5 at Wokha Town. The release issued by its president O. Zareni Ezung stated he was a young, dynamic and a good sportsman whose demise was a great loss to the union and Kyong community in particular.
