HSLC topper shares success

Striking success by topping this year’s HSLC examinations, Vepilii Chiizho, daughter of Pude Chiizho, a Policeman and his wife Vesopolii Chiizho attributed her achievement to hard work and thanked the almighty God for being able to come out in flying colours. Notching up a high of 92.33 % with 554 marks, Vephilii, a student of Fernwood School, Kohima said she used to study daily 15 to 16 hours which helped her to become the top number one. “I used to study daily 15 to 16 hours, after I was promoted to Class X and this continued till my exam this year,” Vephilii told Nagaland Post exclusively, flanked by her Mother Vesopolii Chiizho and sister, Asii Chiizho. With her favorite subject Mathematics, Vepilii, daughter of the Policeman now plans to take admission in Kohima Science College in Class XI standard and aims to become a medical doctor. She also attributed her success to the headmaster and teachers of the school who encouraged her through out her studies and schooling. She was a student of the same school from 1996 till the time of passing her tenth standard. She is among the five children, one son and four daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Chiizho, all students of Fernwood School. While two of her younger sisters studies in class IX and Class VII, her elder brother is a student of a computer engineering in Mokokchung. Her elder sister is awaiting her BA finals result. Her hobbies included watching television. The topper advised the upcoming students to be humble and pay attention to the teachers and constantly study hard to achieve success. The main driving force behind her success was her elder sister Asii Chiizho. Vepilii’s elder sister thanked the church for its prayers and support and also the teachers of the school for her sister’s success.
