In a fresh development to the case involving a former ‘Miss Dimapur’ contestant arrested by Dimapur police on felony charges on April 15 and subsequent report which was carried in some local dailies on April 16, the family members of both parties ended with a compromise. It was reported that on the night of April 14, one Vilie Sumi, proprietor cum warden of Shepherd Montessori School, Notun Bosti, Dimapur, reportedly assaulted one of her ward Nganshikala of class 5 and daughter of Tekalong of Japu Village. Medical reports confirmed the fractures at two places in the right tibia (leg) of the 9 year old girl which was reportedly caused due to the thrashing by the warden. Even after harming the girl, the warden abandoned her in the street along with her twin sister around 10 pm, who is also studying with her. The girls were fortunate enough to be picked up by two policemen who later dropped the girls home around 1.30 am. At a time when female members are attacked by anti-social elements this is brutal act and a matter of great concern for the Nagas in general.
