2 hardcore DHD (J) militants held

Dimapur special branch team apprehended two hardcore DHD (Jewel) militants in a raid conducted near Industry Gate, Sub-jail-Tinali, Dimapur Friday at around 1 p.m. Dimapur special branch deputy superintendent of police, HK Sema disclosed the identities of the militants as - as one Gokul Giri Nepali (42) husband of Aseno Angami of Umrangsho village, Haflong Assam ( an arms and ammunitions smuggler for the militant group) and “corporal” Somarjit Hashu (20) aka Sweet Dimasha, son of Khoben Hashu of Disagisen village North Cachar hills district, Assam and presently residing at industrial estate, Dimapur. Police said Gokul Giri Nepali had supplied about 300 AK 47 rifles and large quantity of live ammunitions and explosives, while Somarjit Hashu had gone to collect some consignment from Gokul’s house. The militants during interrogation, disclosed that two AK 47 rifles along with 233 live rounds of AK 47 which were smuggled from Myanmar, were passed on to a militant group two days back, police said. According to police, the arrested militants also revealed that DHD (Jewel) militant group was commanded by one “Lt. Col” James and was active in entire northeast, especially in Assam. Police also recovered one AK-47 live ammunition and some documents belonging to the group. The two militants have remanded to police custody and investigation on, police added.
