Ganja seized from vehicle with fake registration No.

Kohima Police recovered and seized around 400 Kgs of contraband Ganja from a black Scorpio and giving a hot chase near Mezoma village at around 10 am Saturday. According to police source, the Black Scorpio with fake registration No. NL-10-4258 and loaded with the contraband Ganja was recovered abandoned on the road near Mezoma village. Police said that the Scorpio with two occupants were initially seen proceeding towards Dzulake road but on seeing policemen on ROP duty turned back and sped away toward Mezoma thereby raising suspicion. The speeding Scorpio refused to stop when police personnel and students tried to stop it at Mezoma. One of the occupants of the Scorpio was also seen carrying a pistol in his hand. The police party on receiving information reportedly set up an ambush on the same road ahead but the Scorpio hit boulders kept on the roadside and one of the tyre bursted, the occupant abandoned their vehicle and fled away. Later, police recovered the vehicle along with the contraband Ganja. Police also found out that the vehicle was with a fake registration as the vehicle document found from the vehicle showed that the vehicle was registered under the name of one Holivi Sumi and the original registration No was NL -01-8114. A case has been registered at the South Police station and investigation was on.
