Ex-parliamentary secretary, H. Nyemli Phom has that the Assam Police in “deliberate and clear violation” of the Indian constitution had prevented around 908 voters under Ladigarh under 49 Tamlu A/C in Longleng district to exercise their franchise on April 16 when Nagaland went to polls. He termed the action as “unconstitutional.” Phom in a press release said no action has been initiated so far despite repeated reports to the CEO Nagaland and Election Commission of India. He said that the CEO Nagaland and ECI should not remain silent spectator but deploy adequate armed personnel and conduct the poll without delay in order to avoid any untoward situation. The ex-parliamentary secretary said the Ladigarh village was an “undisputed” Phom Naga village under Tamlu Sub-division and RD Block in Longleng district having a Government Primary School recognized by the NBSE under Longleng DIS.
