Responding to Karbi Anglong Superintendent of Police (SP) statement that Ao Kashiram village under Daldali reserved forest tried to construct Church and some dwelling houses, the Ao Kashiram Village Council (AKVC) has clarified that Ao Kashiram never fell under Daldali reserved forest. Asserting that Ao Kashiram village has a well established Church, constructed 25 years ago, AKVC chairman, Temjen Jamir in a press note said the need to construct a temporary church never arose. It also claimed that there was never a time when about 300 persons from Nagaland including Nagaland police entered Ao Kashiram to construct a Church or for any other purpose. “This statement is a blatant lie, concocted by the SP Karbi Anglong. In fact this statement should have been countered by the SP Dimapur instead of sitting in the meeting as a mute spectator,” AKVC charged. Maintaining its stand that they do not accept the unilateral boundary pillar erected by Assam government, the village council said any pillar should be formally decided between two state governments. “This matter should be immediately taken up by the Nagaland government,” AKVC demanded and said that it was high time the state government wake up from its deep slumber.
