Businessman untraceable

A businessman reportedly abducted by miscreants in front of his shop from Super Market area Kohima on Monday afternoon remained untraceable. Police source admitted to have received tip off about the abduction of one Pradip Prasad, owner of PRM Variety Shop located near Super Market Kohima, only on Tuesday. Police however said no formal complaint or FIR has been lodged so far. It was learnt that the abductor initially demanded a ransom of Rs.5 lakh from the family members of the abducted businessman and the ransom negotiated at Rs 2 lakh. It was also learnt that the abductor later told the negotiator that the money was not needed anymore since the captive businessman was already killed and that the body might be collected. Police on receiving the report is learnt to have sent out search parties to different areas but so far have been unable to trace the missing businessman. Meanwhile, the Kohima Chamber of Commerce (KCCI) appealed the abductor of Pradip Prasad to release him unharmed and unconditionally at the earliest. It also appealed the authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure the safe return of the abducted businessman and also apprehend the culprit responsible at the earliest. Further, it also appealed any person having any information regarding the where about of the missing businessman to contact the KCCI office at 2290973.
