Altogether 13 participants from Churachandpur, Maram in Manipur, Assam, Chuchuyimlang and Kohima have enrolled for the 27 day ITES-BPO trainers training programme that began on May19.
The training is being organised by RIELIT, Kohima in collaboration with M/S Genpact, a Gurgaon based reputed ITES-BPO Company. An inaugural function was held at Call Centre Hall, RIELIT on Tuesday with Dr. S. Birendra Singh, Executive Director, DOEACC Society, New Delhi also the Director of RIELIT presiding over the function, Dr. Zavie Hesie, Senior Scientific Officer, Science & Technology, government of Nagaland and Subhash Rout, Trainer – B2B Voice Operations, Genpact JV, Gurgaon as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Dr. S. Birendra Singh in his speech welcomed and thanked the Genpact company and trainers from different states. He elaborated that though the costs of such courses were high, he was thankful to various schemes implemented by government of India for ST, SC, women and others for subsidizing the training programme so that students had to pay bare minimum fees.
He also mentioned that a Call Centre Training Centre would be established at RIELIT Extension Centre, Chuchuyimlang soon after the completion of the training.
He also expressed hope that such training instead of confining to only call centre operators, would also spread to schools and colleges in the final years, so that industry ready students would be produced.
Dr. Zhavie expressed gratitude to RIELIT for providing the facilities so that people of North East could receive training directly from well known companies at their home state instead of going outside. Subhash Rout expressed hope that the training at Kohima would be an enjoyable experience. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Rhondeno, Call Centre Trainer, RIELIT, Kohima.
