Flesh trade racket busted

Dimapur police on Tuesday arrested six persons, including five female prostitutes and a watchman, from Hotel Salema, New Market Dimapur. On a tip-off police raided the hotel at around 12 noon and discovered girls in hotel rooms with their clients; however the clients managed to escape including hotel manager. The arrested were identified as Rashmi (20), daughter of Boru Prasad, Bihar, presently residing at new market; Riya Das (18), daughter of Monim Das, Silchar, Patampur, presently residing at new market; Sultana (20), daughter of Rosigal Islam, Nagoan, Assam presently at new market; Salma Begum aka Moni (20), daughter of late Habur Ali, Kudantola, Nagoan, Assam; Feroza (27), daughter of Rushidul, Tezpur, Assam and Wahidul Ali (17) son of Suraj Islam, Kikuber, Nagoan, Assam, presently residing at new market. According to one of the accused, they were paid Rs.200 to 300 and some were paid Rs.70. Police sources said that the girls were brought to Dimapur on the pretext of getting them lucrative jobs. The manager, reportedly a pimp is absconding and efforts are on to nab both the manager and the owner of the hotel, police said. All the arrested have been remanded to police custody for further interrogation.
