Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Thursday lashed out at state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio for what it described as a “dangerous political double-standard role” by offering unconditional support to Congress led UPA government at the centre. NPCC in a press statement issued by its vice president (admn.), Zacilhu Vadeo said the Nagas in general were aware of the bitter attitude of NPF leaders towards Congress party, that manifested in opposing the landmark Nuclear-deal last year followed by expulsion of its former Lok Sabha MP, Wangyuh Konyak from the NPF party. Charging state chief minister of launching bitter tirade during election campaigns against previous Congress government by accusing it of having done nothing in Nagaland for the last 50 years, the NPCC said Rio had even publicly declared INC as “Enemy No.1” of NPF party. “After vomiting and flushing all the un-digestible accusations and allegations against its arch-rival, the Congress party, the NPF party is eating its own vomit by offering its unconditional support to the Congress government at the centre,” said Vadeo. Asserting that the move of NPF was only to reap the benefits of UPA government and also to save their chairs, the NPCC said: “We know there is a difference between Alliance and outside support.”
