Ex-president BJP, Ato Yepthomi has appealed one and all to close the merger issue with NPF “once and for all,” saying that the decision to merge was taken during an emergency state BJP executive meeting. It was pointed out that the district BJP party units were also nodding their heads in support of the decision and joining the NPF. Reacting to the statement of BJP National Council Member (NCM), Johnny Rengma that the party was already consulting legal experts to start legal proceedings against its two party ministers, who also merged with the NPF, the ex-president BJP, Ato Yepthomi and ex-spokesman BJP Basu Damani in a joint statement said Rengma was issuing such statements for “gaining cheap publicity only.” The two ex-BJP office bearers reminded Rengma that he himself was expelled from the BJP and that he was re-instated in the party after “much persuasion by him against all odds.”The duo said Rengma’s request through ‘SMS’ last week to certain persons to appoint him the ad-hoc president even for a few weeks was also saved with them. Meanwhile, Rengma informed that the Zonal BJP secretary, Chandrashekar, and Mazumdar, secretary, BJP NE office would attend a meeting tomorrow at 12 noon at the State BJP office, Dimapur.
