BSNLEU biennial joint circle conference underway

With an aim to provide platform in projecting overall scenario of telecommunication facilities provided by BSNL in the region, 4th Biennial Joint Circle Conference of BSNL Employees’ Union (Assam, NE-I & NE-II) began Friday at Durga Mandir, Old Daily Market, Dimapur with Rajan Sanayal, CGMT NE-II as chief guest and Monoj Bhattacharjee, principal, Pranob Vidyapith Vidyapith School and Tripad Nath Chakraborty, professor (Economics), Dubri College Assam as guests of honour. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest expressed satisfaction over the employees and customers relation and encouraged the employees to win the trust of people and look into their requirement. He also assured to give his best for the progress of BSNL and work for the benefit of the customers. Delivering his welcome speech, T. Walling, chairman, reception committee, 4th joint circle conference Dimapur expressed happiness that the conference held at Dimapur provided platform to plan out the overall development of telecommunication system and give awareness to people of the region. Stressing on the plan of BSNL management in NE-II region in offering various development programme, new facilities and scheme to the customers, he said materializing of present and future planning in the region had been delayed due to acute shortage of man power, hilly terrain, difficulties in reaching remote areas and transportation of required materials and inadequate supply of commercial power. However, he assured BSNL management of the region would be committed to serve and develop the telecommunication system of the region at any cost. Speakers of the conference included Nagen Chetia, circle president, BSNLEU, Assam circle, Gopal Das, circle president, NE-I Shillong, K. Prafulla Singh, circle president, NE-II Dimapur, J. N Misra, president, CHQ. BLNLEU, New Delhi, VAN Namboodiri, GS. CHQ. BSNLEU, New Delhi, Animesh Mitra, circle secretary, BSNLEU, West Bengal, Tapash Ghosh, secretary general, BSNL, casual contractual workers federation, Kolkata, Sawapan Chakraborty, circle secretary, NE-I Shillong, M. B Singh, circle secretary, NE-II Dimapur, Homeswar Deka, circle secretary, Assam circle and H. Sinha, circle secretary, AIBSNLEA, NE-II circle Dimapur. Around 700 employees of BSNL attended the opening session of the three-day 4th biennial joint conference.
