Sainik School Parents’ Association (SSPA) has condemned the incident on May 19 where some armed miscreants sneaked inside Sainik school Punglwa and looted cash and valuables at gun point. SSPA in a release condemned the heinous crime perpetrated to the staff who render selfless service to produce elite citizens of the nation. Further it stated that the miscreants out to ‘ruin the prospects of the most prestigious and only premier educational institution’ must understand that they were ‘playing with the sentiments of the entire Naga public’ and said irresponsible and senseless acts of anti-socials should be condemned by branding them as ‘enemy of the society’. SSPA further appealed to national workers to nab and identify the miscreants and deliver harsh punishment in case they belonged to their factions. The association also urged the state government to strengthen security personnel to prevent such reoccurrence in the future and to build security brick wall around the campus. SSPA has further appealed to all Naga NGOs, civil societies and Old Boys Association (OBA) to condemn and contribute their support to protect the institution. In the after math of the incident the representatives of parents met and interacted with faculty staff and found out that the staffs were still in trauma and fear psychosis. SSPA has expressed sympathy to the victims and encouraged the faculty members not to lose heart.
