Ban on sale of calendars, lottery and gutkas

The first joint meeting between Kyong Students’ Union (KSU), Wokha and Chamber of Commerce Wokha was held on 24 May where both the organizations resolved to verify any organizations before selling of calendars or lottery tickets to any business set up and also warned all non- local businessmen not to involve in any immoral activity with any of the local people, and added that setting up of any business should be done through Chambers of Commerce. Meanwhile the release also warned the business community of a fine of Rs.20,000 if caught selling gutkas and Burmese goods in and around Wokha district. Further, the release informed that the Chamber of Commerce would be sponsoring any Kyong student from a weak financial background who passed with a good percentage in the HSSLC/HSLC. The KSU further appreciated the Wokha Circle Students’ Union for intensive checking of illegal products at Wokha town.
