Neiphiu Rio, Ndang fetes Agatha

State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio on Thursday congratulated newly inducted union ministers from north east including BK Handique, Agatha K Sangma and Vincent Bala on assuming office of union minister and union ministers of state respectively. The chief minister in a felicitation note to BK Handique expressed confidence that his “vast experience” would make substantial contribution for the development of the country and northeast in particular. In a congratulatory letter addressed to Vincent Bala, the chief minister said: “The people of North East have high expectations from you and I am sure under your able dynamism the people of the country in general and the North East in particular will richly receive the fruits of development in all fronts.” The chief minister, in another felicitation message to Agatha K Sangma said: “We are proud that you are the youngest ever Minister in the Union Ministry and with your dynamism, the people of the country in general and the Nothe East in particular will richly receive the fruits of development in all fronts.” Meanwhile, former Nagaland Assembly Speaker and NCP leader Neiba Ndang has congratulated Agatha Sangma, MP from Tura, for being appointed as a minister in the newly formed UPA Government at the Centre. The State NCP leader also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for inducting Agatha into his ministry and to national NCP president Sharad Pawar for having special concern for the North East people by recommending the name of Agatha, the youngest MP, for ministership. “We have high hopes that the newly elected minister (Agatha Sangma) will look into the welfare of the North East people and region,” Ndang said in a press release. Further, the NCP leader also congratulated Vincent Palla of Shillong constituency and Handique for securing ministerial berths in the UPA government.
