Four held on murder, kidnapping charge

Special Branch Dimapur, in a major breakthrough in the case connected to kidnappings and murder apprehended four accused involved in four murder cases, seven kidnapping cases and one shooting incident in Dimapur during the last one year from various places here on Saturday. A special branch team led by Dy. S.P , HK Sema apprehended Abdul Hanan aka Hannu aka Chota Don from Purana Bazaar, Vikas Burman aka Chota Boss from Dhobinala; Abdul Munan aka Munai aka Patla Miya from 3rd mile and Asaduddin from Khermahal as they were absconding. According to Dy.S.P, HK Sema police were on the look out for the accused since last year. The accused committed crimes in Dimapur then fled escaped to Suraipani, Karimganj, Assam. They were also involved in the killing of a businessman identified as Sambhu Das whose relatives paid Rs.2 lakh of the Rs.50 lakh demanded as ransom. While four were arrested by Special branch Dimapur, the other two was arrested by Assam police. All four professional gangsters reportedly confessed to the murder of Paul – a businessman – last year and also shooting incident at Sechu colony besides several others. Further interrogation of the accused revealed that some others too were involved in other murder cases. Police have detailed the role of each of the accused. All the four were forwarded to police custody while efforts were on to arrest other gang members.
