Jagtiani ‘father of Taekwon-do in India’

The executive director and the technical advisor of Taekwondo Hall of Fame, USA conferred Grand Master Jimmy R Jagtiani 8th Dan black belt as “father of Taekwon-do in India” at a grand ceremony held in Marriot Hotel , New Jersey, USA on April 10. Pradipta Kumar Roy and Ruma Roy Chowdhury (Kolkata) were also inducted as out standing player male and female respectively. In a mailed release received here, Grand Master Jimmy R Jagtiani said he had received countless awards and honors during his lifetime but this honour conferred “Taekwon-do hall of Fame” USA was the most treasured reward. This has added another feather in his cap being the founder of Taekwondo in India, Secretary General of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) and hold International Referee Degree. He stated that he would aim at up-gradation of Sports particularly Taekwondo in the World as well as Olympic. Pradipta next step is to up-grade Sports particularly Taekwondo in the World as well as Olympic. He is also the founder of Taekwondo in India, Secretary General of Taekwondo Federation of India (TFI) and hold International Referee Degree. He helped modify ITA tournaments rules and regulations and took active role in Organizing the World Taekwondo Festival in Korea.
