Sensitization programme of village functionaries on human development under UNDP – GOI project organized by planning and coordination department and state institute of rural development (SIRD) was held at Peren Town Hall from June 9 to 10.
Around 200 participants attended from all the 3 blocks under Peren district that included all the VCCs, VDB Secretaries, Women organizations and NGOs.
Mention may be made that the state government launched the Sensitization programme on GOI-UNDP project to strengthen state plans for human development. Under this project the work plan would be capacity building at village functionaries’ level to create awareness and to understand the concept and issues of HD, HD Index, gender issues and budgeting.
A series of such programme would be conducted at district/ blocks level in the entire State jointly organized by the planning and coordination department and SIRD.
The prime objective would be to sensitize the village functionaries on the importance and the need for human development and helping the village functionaries to consider the human development aspect while planning and implementing developmental programmes.
The training at Peren district was conducted through lecture cum discussion, group discussion, slide shows, course reading materials, handouts were also provided to the participants.
The second day session of the training was on capacity building for officials and non-officials under NREGS programme.
