Commenting on recent merging of state Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) with Nagaland People’s Front (NPF), the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Wednesday slammed at the NPF stating nothing was as “abusive and mocking” in the manner in which NPF president described the merger of BJP with NPF as “tactical move” towards finding an early solution to the Indo-Naga political problem. Stating that Naga people cannot be swayed by the “perpetual political flip-flop” behaviour and conduct of NPF party, NPCC media cell chairman, R Paphino in a statement said it was too “outrageous and childish” to mesmerize the Naga people by saying “look, the 6 decades old protracted Naga political problem will be finally solved by merging with few self-centred BJP workers.” Affirming that Nagaland Congress party would not allow the “NPF tricksters” to dazzle with their “deceptive and slippery politics” in Nagaland and elsewhere, in this changed political scenario, the Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson said: “after all, Naga politics doesn’t belong to NPF alone but it concerns all the sections of our Naga Society including NPCC.” Further, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee underscored that if solution to the Naga political problem could be brought, it would be possible only through unity and concerted effort of the entire Naga people.
