Project for women development

A pilot project on Piggery Project and Women Entrepreneurial Development Initiative was launched here today under the aegis of Watsü Mungdang. Under this project, 35 beneficiaries would be given a grand in aid of Rs. 5000/- each to start the Piggery. In the Women Entrepreneurial Development Project, two women beneficiaries were selected in two different types of works including cutting & tailoring and to open general shop. These two beneficiaries would be given a grant of Rs. 2 lakh each to start the project. However, in this project the money would have to be refunded within 30 months. The launching program was graced by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung C.M Tsanglao as chief guest. Delivering his address, DC urged women members to take the initiative properly and also encouraged them to be successful in their ventures. He also added such programs of the government were aimed at sustenance of mass and people should utilize such schemes to its fullest potential. He called upon the beneficiaries to take the initiative in extending help to other members of the society so that people were benefited. The DC also appreciated the efforts of Watsü Mungdang in taking the initiatives. The beneficiaries also spoke at the program whereby they thanked the Watsü for selecting them as beneficiaries and vowed that they would not fail in their respective projects. This project is funded under the Chief Minister’s Corpus Fund and routed through Department of Women Development and would serve the unemployed young women and destitute women in the society.
