Thahekhu Village Council (TVC), GBs and the residents while acknowledging the statement of the NSCN(I-M) that late Atovi’s killing on January 25 in Dimapur was due to misinformation, also expressed hope that the outfit would deliver justice as assured. TVC chairman, Yekheto T. Ayemi and secretary, Heloto K. Anche in a statement said that the Thahekhu villagers held a public meeting on Saturday and unanimously decided to “some more restraint as a sign of trust in their declaration.” TVC said that though the response from the NSCN (I-M) was “quite overdue,” it urged the NSCN(I-M) authorities to prosecute those involved within the time frame of seven days w.e.f. June 14. The TVC has also asked the NSCN (I-M) to relay to it through publication in the press of the decision taken. “We believe that the authorities concerned in the NSCN (I-M) understands the sentiments of our people and also the sanctity of their government which assures justice,” TVC added.
