AANLA commander-in-chief killed

A commander of the AANLA’s B-group was gunned down at Baganabil, Gharialdubi locality of Bokajan town by a joint team of Assam police commandos and personnel of the 8 Guard Garawal Regiment of Indian army, Sunday. Acting on earlier inputs, a combined team of security forces led by Captain Arsh Deep Sing of Indian army and Sub Inspector, Rajesh Kr. Das of Assam Police cordoned off the entire area at around 12:15 pm. After a brief gun battle, the dreaded AANLA commander-in-charge Daria Munda (31) was killed on the spot. One 9 mm pistol, two .22 rifle and a mobile handset was recovered from the slain ultra leader, police said. It may be recalled that the Adivasi militant outfit was instrumental in many subversive activities in the entire Bokajan area including planting bombs in railway tracks in recent times.
