Army recruitment rally held in Jalukie

Indian Army Recruitment Rally was conducted at Jalukie in Peren District from June 9 to 14. The rally was open to candidates from Mokokchung, Wokha and Dimapur and Peren. According to an official bulletin, the recruitment rally was open especially for sportsmen for all North East states who had participated at the state or higher levels in recognised games. The first day of the rally was for aspirants from Mokokchung and Peren district, wherein the turnout of candidates from Mokokchung at entry point was few but from Peren district more than 300 boys turned up. The written exam for medically fit candidates would be held at Rangapahar (Dimapur) on June 28 and the results would be declared within two weeks time. Director, Recruiting Office said that due to the new policy of promoting sportsmen there were a large number of vacancies in the technical trades. The vacancies have been thrown open to for all states of the northeast. The number of vacancies has not been announced and candidates meeting the laid down criteria would be permitted to appear for written exam and based on the over all order of merit, successful candidates would be allotted to various regiments. Candidates have been further advised not to fall prey to people posing as middlemen, touts and agents promising to get the candidates enrolled. The screening process is free, fair, transparent and conducted under public scrutiny.
