Naga killed in Goa

A twenty six year old Naga youth was stabbed to death at Panjim, Goa late Saturday night. According to police sources the deceased identified as Toshimongba Jamir, of Longkong village, resident of Tobugaon, Dimapur son of Alemnungba, a Havildar under District Executive Force (DEF) Mon, was stabbed twenty two times on his neck, cheek, forehead, arms and stomach. A twenty year old Nepali youth, Vikram Saba reportedly a close friend and a colleague of Jamir, suspected to have stabbed him to death. Police said that both Saba and Jamir had a scuffle over a petty matter Friday night. The very next day it was reported that Saba resigned from his job and said he was leaving for his hometown, Nepal. Police reports said that, on Saturday mid-night, Saba waited in a corner of the building where Jamir resides. As he reached, Saba attacked Jamir with a sharp weapon. Jamir in a bid to save himself, ran towards a nearby Hotel. Saba followed him a stabbed him there again and fled. Jamir was immediately rushed to hospital but was affirmed brought dead. The incident occurred late Saturday night wherein the deceased was found lying in a pool of blood on city’s well known 18th June Road. Both the deceased and accused person were stated to be working in the same restaurant, Shere Punjab Classic at Panjim,Goa. Goa Police have begun a manhunt to nab the accused and have also dispatched a team to Nepal. Meanwhile sources from Goa added that the body has been kept at GMC, Goa morgue and process is under way to bring the body back to Nagaland.
