NE girl molested by tutor in Delhi

  A North East girl who came for graduate admission in Delhi University was allegedly molested by a tutor in North Delhi. The incident of molesting the innocent girl begun from the time she had gone to the resident of the accused for Hindi tuition, North East Support Centre and Helpline spokesperson, Madhu Chandra in a release reported. According to the release the girl had kept the matter to herself and was reluctant to go anymore. Moreover, due to shame, she did not disclose the matter to her elder brother. But when the accused repeatedly molested and forced to kiss and rape, she finally reported the matter to her brother. Immediately after the matter was reported to North East Support Centre and Helpline its secretary rushed to the spot, provided trauma counselling and gave her consent to file a complaint in local police station against the accused person, it stated. Meanwhile, five north eastern boys working in shopping malls in Gurgaon was reportedly arrested by Gurgaon DLF Phase I police from their rented homes in Shakarpur of Gurgaon. The friends living around those who are arrested was not informed by the police, the report stated. The north eastern people living have been facing difficulties in Gurgaon by similar harassment by the police and the boys and girls have been also suffering by the crimes like molestation and beating by the locals. Meanwhile, addressing the racial discrimination face by the people of north eastern India living in Delhi and NCR, the North East Support Centre and Helpline has condemned the killing and harassment of non-Manipuris living in Manipur. “The racial and cruel some meted out to non-Manipuris by suck outlaw elements must be stopped immediately because there can be bad consequences to the North Eastern communities living outside of the region,” it stated.
