Nagaland DGP K. Kire (IPS) paid a maiden visit to Wokha on Thursday.
The visiting DGP while speaking at the gathering held at S.P. office premises on Thursday encouraged the personnel to perform duties with outmost discipline and alertness so it would help in strengthening the power of police force in the state.
He further assured them that he would help whatever genuine cases he received from, at his level. He also said he was working whole heartily for the improvement of police in fracture development where he is on negation with state government.
In the gathering IG (Range) N.N. Ngullie praised the DGP stating he was energetic and dynamic and encouraged the personnel based in the district to be disciplined and perform duties in honor of his respected post.
Others who spoke at the gathering included DIG (Range). The function concluded with a note from the SP Wokha, Imlisunep Ao who appreciated the DGP and his team for the concern he showed during his visit in the district, and further said that the visit and the comments of the visiting DG was like an “alarm” to perform the assigned duties towards contributing in strengthening the hand of the police force in the state.
So far 28 crimes had been recorded in the register in the district where 14 had been charge-sheeted and the other 14 was still under investigation, SP added. The DG after the meeting left for Bhandari 7th NAP unit.
After assuming the highest post of police department in March, DGP’s target was to reform the working system in the line of improvement and modernization where he wanted the state police to be in best discipline among the country.
It is also to be noted that he had visited almost sixteen units in the state with Wokha as the seventeenth. His tour would culminate this coming Saturday
