DDADU advisors, president clarifies

Dimapur District Autorickshaw Driver’s Union (DDADU) in a joint press release issued by its advisors, Tokiye Kiba (chief advisor) and Vikato Assumi (advisor) has clarified the news item which appeared in a local daily on June 19. According to the clarification, the meeting held on June 13 was not a general body meeting but an emergency meeting to look into and deliberate the grievances of the auto drivers and that the president did not convene any general meeting on the date mentioned in the publication. The advisors also clarified there were no such resolution made to impeach the president as alleged at the same time added that Hevukhe was not an advisor to DDADU. Meanwhile, in a separate release, president of the union, Akaho Kiba, has stated that the termination of seven executive members from their respective posts on disciplinary grounds on June 13 were approved by the advisory board and executive members of DDADU by 2/3 majority votes of the members present in the emergency meeting held on June 18 at its head office.
