The first Khiamniungan colony ever to be set up outside Tuensang district was inaugurated by minister for power & election, Doshehe Y Sema on Saturday at Shokhuvi village.
Speaking at the programme chief guest Doshehe, called upon Sumi and Khiamniungan community to work in unity and stated that development would come along.
Quoting an old saying “wife and land is already written from before”, he pointed out that it was a destiny that the colony was formed. He also said that the Nagas had tested living together and found that they were comfortable with each other and urged the gathering to form a peace model village. Parliamentary secretary for fisheries, relief & rehabilitation, printing & stationery, S Heno also attended the function along with various other officials
Meanwhile the chief guest requested the gathering to define boundary, customary law and social life. Later the chief guest promised to connect electricity to all the colony and donated Rs 1 Lakh, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 towards construction of church, dancing troupe and reception respectively. S Heno also Rs 30,000 and 5 bundles of CGI sheets It may be mentioned that the colony has total of 55 households.
