Bollywood all set to explore Meghalaya

A - Major, a musical film based on Shillong kicked off its shooting here on Sunday. The film is being produced by Symbiosis Movies Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, and directed by Samir Khan and written by Rajushree Das. The film is portraying the rock music culture and the lifestyle of Shillong. The local talent from the region is being given an opportunity to associate with the movie in different production works and acting. State Journalist-Film Maker Saidul Khan with his core team of Kyle Marak, Dilip Khanal, Suraj Singh Sarki and others in association with Sangma Entertainment and Communication Pvt. Ltd., Shillong is extending all help to make the film a reality. The movie is all set to explore the natural beauty of Meghalaya and its rich culture and tradition.Most of the local artist and freshers’ are being used in the film from the region. Renowned Bollwood Actor-Director, Tinu Anand, Ayub Khan, Bollywood actor and a popular TV star, Farida Dadi, TV artist are also part of this musical film. The Director of the film Samir Khan in an exclusive interview said, "The film is exploring all possible ways to portray Shillong as the rock music capital of India and its rich natural beauty". He is confident that the film will boost the tourism industry in Meghalaya as it will show its scenic beauty to all the film lovers across the country and it will be a wide publicity for the state. He also said, "The film is all about passion and abhiman, an internal journey which reciprocates the love and hate where music stands as catalyst".
